Lynn Road Library Circulation

Ms. Taylor loves tracking library data to ensure that our library patrons have the highest level of access to our school’s library collection! During the 2012-2013 school year, our library had a circulation total of 62,397. Below is our monthly circulation from September 2013 to December 2013. Our circulation total for this school year (September-December) is 26,289. We are on track for another great year. Thanks to all of the volunteers who have helped us shelve all of the items checked out and returned to our library. We could certainly use some more help, so if you are interested in volunteering in the library click here.

Aluminum Pop Tab Collection Program

Lynn Road Elementary collects aluminum pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House of Durham to give our students an opportunity to participate in a service learning project to help one of the organizations in our community. Last year, our school collected over 19 pounds of aluminum pop tabs. At approximately 100 pop tabs per ounce, our school collected over 30,000 aluminum pop tabs during the 2012-2013 school year. See graph below to follow our collection efforts this year. Information, guidelines and facts concerning the Ronald McDonald Aluminum Pop Tab Collection program can be found at http://www.ronaldhousedurham.org/page/pop-tab-collection-program1. If you would like to contribute pop tabs to our school’s efforts to support the Ronald McDonald House of Durham, please contact our librarian, Jenny Ruby Taylor, by e-mail at jrtaylor@wcpss.net or by phone at (919)-870-4095.

Feed the Bin Paper Recycling Program

Our school participates in the Feed the Bin Paper Recycling Program funded by the Wake County Solid Waste Management Division. All of our classrooms participate in this program. Every week each classroom brings their paper recycling bin to the library on Feed the Bin Day. This program gives our students another wonderful opportunity to participate in a service learning project. See chart below to view our collection efforts so far this school year.
